My kids are studying poetry in reading workshop. I came across this poem that I thought would work on visualizing. I also liked it because it was dealing with fractions! We are in the fractions chapter. My kids were excited because they didn't know that fractions could be part of poetry!!! Great discussion!
I just used part of the poem....
At lunchtime I bought a huge orange-
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave-
They got quarters and I had a half.
